I’m standing in the kitchen, making myself a cup of coffee, when I notice something odd.
The sugar container is open, but it’s not like John Mercer or Karen would use that much sugar for their cereal.
It’s more than that – the lid’s off, but it’s still on the counter, and there are no visible signs of a spill.
Now, I’m thinking maybe someone just needed to get at something inside and forgot to put the lid back, but…Mrs Jenkins always does her cleaning on Tuesdays.
We had a pretty chill Tuesday yesterday, so unless Mrs Jenkins came over unexpectedly, this doesn’t make sense.
Plus, why would she clean up after herself like that? This is getting me slightly annoyed – I can see Pandora’s got a meeting at work today, and now I’m wondering if maybe she stopped by the house while I was out running errands…and who did what with her coffee, too.
I’m trying to piece this together logically, but it’s not adding up.
Okay, so Mrs Jenkins doesn’t clean on Tuesdays, but what if she had a reason to come over yesterday? Maybe John Mercer or Karen was here and they helped her with something? But why would Mrs Jenkins need sugar from our container? Unless…unless she made some kind of dessert for one of them? That’s possible, right? And the lid being on the counter doesn’t necessarily mean it was left that way.
Maybe someone moved it to clean around it or something.
I’m starting to think Pandora might have had a reason to come home early and use the sugar, but then why would she leave the container like this? Unless…she’s been acting weird lately and maybe she’s trying to cover her tracks or something? This is getting weirder by the minute – I need to talk to Pandora about this.
This whole thing with Mrs Jenkins and the sugar is making me question my perception of reality, actually.
I mean, what if none of this makes sense? What if it’s all just a weird coincidence or something? Maybe I’m overthinking it because I’ve got nothing better to do.
