I’m Starting to Think Pandora’s Visit Was No Accident

I’m sitting on the couch, watching Karen cook dinner in the kitchen, and I notice she’s humming to herself.

That’s weird – Karen never hums when she’s cooking.

She’s usually listening to music or just focused on whatever dish she’s making.

It’s a tiny thing, but it seems out of place.

Mr Whiskers is lounging on her feet, which means he’s trying to get pets and attention, so I wouldn’t think Karen would be distracted by anything.

Unless…

unless John Mercer is in the house, because he always makes Karen laugh or gets her riled up about something.

But I just saw him leave for the gym like 20 minutes ago.

Could it be that Karen’s humming is because of Pandora? She stopped by earlier to drop off some laundry and might still be on our minds.

Maybe it’s nothing, but I’m not quite sure why Karen would start humming now…

I’ve been sitting here for a while, trying to piece together this weird humming thing.

I’m starting to think it’s not just about Karen’s usual cooking routine or even John Mercer being in the house – maybe it’s more personal than that.

Mrs Jenkins was over yesterday, and I remember she mentioned something about Karen being stressed out about work lately.

Maybe the humming is a sign of Karen releasing tension? Or possibly…

and this is just a hunch…

but maybe Pandora coming by earlier had nothing to do with laundry after all.

What if she dropped off some baked goods or something, and Karen’s humming is a result of her trying to be friendly or polite? No, that doesn’t make sense – Karen would just say thanks or ask about the recipe, not start humming like an idiot.

But what if Pandora did bring up something personal or sensitive? Maybe that’s why Karen’s humming, trying to mask some underlying discomfort…

I’ve been so caught up in overthinking this humming thing that I haven’t even considered Mr.

Whiskers’ behavior as a separate entity from Karen’s distraction.

But what if he’s not just seeking pets and attention? Maybe he senses something’s off too, like when I’m feeling anxious or stressed, and is trying to calm me down by rubbing against my leg.

His tail was twitching earlier, which could be a sign that he’s on high alert for some reason.

And now that I think about it, Pandora did mention last night that she saw Karen looking particularly frazzled at work yesterday.

Could Mr.

Whiskers have picked up on something through his keen feline senses? Maybe he’s trying to comfort Karen by staying close, which would explain why she’s humming while doing the dishes.

But then again, it’s not like Karen’s usually so…

serene in front of a sink full of dirty pots and pans.

I’ve been thinking about Pandora’s visit earlier, and I’m starting to wonder if it wasn’t just a coincidence that she came by when Karen was stressed.

Maybe there’s more to it than that.

I recall John saying something about Pandora being super observant, always picking up on people’s moods and stuff.

What if she noticed Karen was frazzled at work yesterday and decided to “drop off” some baked goods or whatever as a way of checking in? That would explain why Karen’s humming now, maybe trying to cover up the fact that Pandora brought up something personal or upsetting.

I’m not saying it’s definitely related, but the more I think about it, the weirder it seems that Pandora just happened to come by when Karen was already on edge.

I’m starting to think about the timing of Mr.

Whiskers’ behavior and how it might be connected to Karen’s stress levels, but then I realize that Dave, our neighbor, was out in his backyard around the same time he started rubbing against my leg.

He’s always messing with us by trying to get pets from Mr.

Whiskers or me when we’re trying to relax.

What if he saw something too and is now trying to get a reaction out of Karen? Maybe he witnessed her getting worked up at work yesterday and is now poking around, trying to see how she’ll react.

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced that Dave’s involvement is key here – or maybe not, but still, it’s an interesting connection to make.

Now I’m wondering if Karen’s calm demeanor has anything to do with whatever Dave might’ve seen, and whether Pandora’s visit was just a coincidence after all…

It hits me that Karen’s calmness could be a ruse, a deliberate attempt to lull us into complacency while she secretly processes whatever Dave might’ve seen.

I think back to how she was humming along with the TV earlier and how Pandora seemed overly interested in her reaction.

What if they’re working together on this? I know it sounds far-fetched, but what if Karen’s been subtly manipulating situations to gather more information about my thoughts on Pandora’s visit? Mrs.

Jenkins from next door mentioned that Karen’s been acting strangely around food lately, always seeming to “accidentally” leave out snacks for me or John when we’re studying late.

Could be a distraction tactic, making us think she’s just being nice while actually trying to gauge our reactions to her supposed “coincidental” visit? I’m starting to piece together a narrative where Karen’s stress is just the surface level and Pandora’s visit is the real crux of the matter.

Now that I’ve connected Karen’s calmness to Dave’s potential involvement, it makes me wonder about the timing of Pandora’s visit.

Was she trying to capitalize on my relaxed state after our morning chat with Mrs.

Jenkins? Maybe her questions about John were just a smokescreen for something else entirely.

I recall how Karen was watching us from across the room during their conversation, almost as if she was observing a science experiment.

What if Dave’s presence in the equation is more than just a coincidence, but rather a way to get me to open up about my relationship with Pandora? Could Karen be using Dave as some sort of proxy, getting him to extract information from me while maintaining her own cover? This line of thinking has me questioning even the smallest details – like how John seemed particularly interested in Pandora’s visit when we were discussing it later that day.

Was he just being his usual friendly self or was there something more at play? I’m starting to think John’s behavior around Pandora’s visit is more than just a coincidence, and it’s all connected to his alleged “friendship” with Dave.

I remember how John was unusually chatty that evening, almost as if he was trying to keep me occupied while Pandora was snooping around the house.

Maybe he’s in on it too, using their friendship as a way to get close to me and gather intel for Karen or Dave.

But here’s the thing – I’ve been noticing how John’s always been a bit of a neat freak, and suddenly his room is a mess whenever Pandora comes over.

It’s like he’s trying to create a distraction from something else entirely.

What if John’s not just a roommate, but an unwitting pawn in Karen’s game? And what about Mr Whiskers, our cat – I’ve been noticing how he’s been acting weird around Pandora too, always swatting at her or hiding under the bed when she comes near.

Could it be that Mr Whiskers is somehow attuned to my emotions and is picking up on something I’m not seeing? I’ve been going over our conversations with Pandora, trying to pinpoint any inconsistencies or potential red flags.

And then it hit me – she’s always been overly curious about my daily routine and habits, almost as if she’s searching for patterns or vulnerabilities to exploit.

But what really got my attention was when I recalled how she reacted when I mentioned my cat, Mr Whiskers, getting into trouble by knocking over a vase last week.

She seemed almost…

relieved that it wasn’t something more serious.

It’s like she’s been waiting for me to slip up so she can pounce on the opportunity to pry more information out of me.

Now I’m thinking maybe Pandora’s not just snooping around my apartment, but also manipulating our conversations to keep me off balance and guessing.

If that’s the case, what does it say about her intentions towards our relationship? Is she playing a long game, using our friendship as a way to gather intel for Karen or Dave? I need to confront her about this, once and for all.
