Walmart in China

Dave

We thought our WalMarts had it all.

Crocodiles.

Bulk Rice.

Mixed meat for the choosing. (I’m sure they all washed their hands first!) This is all so sanitary, isn’t it? No wonder the corona virus spread quickly.

Turtles and frogs. Yum, Yum!

You guess! (It looks familiar, but definitely not something that I have eaten or going to! Those are bull penises.)

Walmart Brand Spirits

Rib Cages. (From what or who?) NOT sanitary again!

Assorted Dried Reptiles.

Beautiful Boxes Of Liquor.

Frogs.

A Large Selection of Chopsticks.

Ducks on a rack (They say it tastes just like chicken!) Not very sanitary.

Great Value Brand Beef Granules.

Pig Faces.

Antibacterial Bikini Underwear For Men.

Diet Water. (Hmmm.) It has no calories anyway.

Meat Water. Notice the flavors on the bottles.

Specialty Pickles. (Just like “Cracker Jacks” a prize in every jar!)

100% Powdered Horse Milk (no ponies!).

Gosh…and North American WalMarts only have crazily dressed people.

Things to See Around the Barringer Meteor Crater

Dave

When first walking up you can see the meteor crater in its entirety, but for a closer view you need to walk to the observation deck.

While walking out to the observation deck you can see some Moenkopi Sandstone.

From the observation deck at the Barringer Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona there are some telescopes that are pointing at different objects. It is all to teach you more about the crater and to use as a size comparison.

Here you can see the raised strata from the impact of the meteor.

These next series of images show the Drill Hole A site, the winch and boiler next to the main drill shaft, the main shaft, and a full size astronaut and flag to show you how big they actually appear. I really had to zoom in from the observation deck to get clear photos of these objects.

A site like this needs some dedication plaques to give recognition to those who participated or donated to help support the cause.

Sights Around Lafayette Square

Dave

Walking around Lafayette Square in front of the White House here are a few of the things you can see. First you can see the front of the White House with the Washington Monument in the background.

Next you can see an Equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson. The statue depicts Andrew Jackson, the general who commanded US forces in the Battle of New Orleans on January 8, 1815, and who served as the seventh president of the United States from 1829 to 1837.

Another statue you may see is of Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko (English: Andrew Thaddeus Bonaventure Kosciuszko; February 1746 – 15 October 1817) was a Polish military engineer, statesman, and military leader who became a national hero in Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and the United States.

Universal Studios Sound Stages

Dave

While taking the movie set tour at Universal Studios Hollywood we went past the sound stages. These are specially made big buildings that blockout outside noise so high quality sound can be recorded within. As you can see on the walls of the different building you can see some of the shows and movies being recorded inside.

The United States National Archives

Dave

Went to the United States National Archives to see the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights.  I wanted to take a photo of the Constitution, however when I got there they had signs up stating no photography.  After inquiring why they informed me it is because the light affects the actual document and the ink on the document.  They also informed that previously to get into the building you would have to walk through the front door, however you don’t enter that way anymore because the sunlight that would come into the building every time the door was opened would fade the ink.  The room lighting is dim, the documents are kept at a specific temperature range, they are stored in an inert gas, and the light is strictly controlled in order to preserve the documents.  Even after learning about all that it was still an awesome experience to be able to see first-hand the most important documents in the United States.

Meteor Crater near Winslow, Arizona

Dave

Winslow, Arizona is the home to a gigantic hole in the earth called Meteor Crater. This hole is so big it could fit downtown San Francisco in it.  Here are a couple photos that I took with different camera equipment.  The second photo I had to stitch multiple photos together to fit the whole crater in it and then I applied some filters to enhance it so more area within the crater was visible and it added a little more drama to the image.
