I like sharing my thoughts, opinions, and experiences about the world around me—without turning the focus inward or making things overly personal. I’ve always been curious about how people live, think, and interact beyond their familiar surroundings, especially knowing that many never get the chance to venture far from where they were born. I’ve been fortunate to travel around the world, and those experiences have shaped how I see things. Travel has a way of challenging assumptions, broadening perspective, and revealing how much we have in common despite cultural differences. When I write, I enjoy reflecting on what I’ve seen and learned, and sharing those observations in a way that others can relate to, whether they’ve traveled extensively or not. My goal isn’t to tell a personal story for its own sake, but to offer insight, perspective, and thoughtful commentary drawn from real experiences. I write to explore ideas, compare viewpoints, and share what the wider world has taught me along the way.

Habu Sake (Snake Rice Wine)
I went to the botanical gardens in Okinawa with some friends to see a Christmas light event that was going on. While there I was walking through a gift store and saw this Habu sake. In Okinawa, “Habu” means snake and sake is Japanese rice wine. So you literally buy a bottle of wine that …

While attending Air Force Technical Training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, I found myself with unexpected downtime between courses. Rather than waste the hours, a few fellow airmen and I decided to channel our energy into something productive: we built a gazebo. It wasn’t part of our formal training, nor was it …
From Basic to Biloxi: My First Days at Keesler Air Force Base
After graduating from Basic Military Training in San Antonio, Texas, I boarded a plane bound for New Orleans, Louisiana. From there, a bus carried me east along the Gulf Coast until we pulled into Biloxi, Mississippi—home of Keesler Air Force Base. The ride was long but filled with the kind of nervous anticipation that only …
Dancing with Greatness: My First NFL Game and the Magic of Barry Sanders
This was the first NFL football game I had ever seen in person, and it’s a memory that still feels fresh decades later. I can picture the faded ticket stub even now, worn around the edges from years of being tucked into drawers and boxes, rediscovered in moments of nostalgia. That small piece of paper …
