The World’s Dumbest Bank Robbery

A man intent on robbing a downtown Bank of America walked into the branch and wrote the following note: “Put all your muny in this bag.”

While standing in line and waiting to hand the note to the teller, he began to worry that someone might have seen him write it and would call the police before he reached the window. Growing increasingly nervous, he left the Bank of America, crossed the street, and walked into a Wells Fargo branch instead.

After waiting a few minutes in line at Wells Fargo, he handed the note to the teller. She read it and, judging from the spelling errors that he wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, informed him that she couldn’t accept his stickup note because it was written on a Bank of America deposit slip. She explained that he would either need to fill out a Wells Fargo deposit slip or return to Bank of America.

Looking thoroughly defeated, the man simply said, “OK,” and walked out.

He was arrested a few minutes later while standing back in line at Bank of America.
